Nine members of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and 10 civilian contractors were injured Friday in a suicide-bomb blast before a US military base in the eastern part of the Afghan capital Kabul.
The bomber, who was driving an explosive-packed vehicle, triggered the blast on Jalalabad Road, a locality that houses several international military bases. The area near Camp Phoenix US military base was sealed off by security forces after the incident.
Taliban militants claimed responsibility for the attack.
