American Italian Pasta Set New High For Year Thursday

American Italian Pasta (AIPC) reported first quarter EPS of $0.95 Thursday morning, down from $1.23 last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.77.
American Italian Pasta rose sharply in the first half hour of trade Thursday, but settled into a range for the remainder of the session. The stock closed up by $2.37 at $37.50 on the highest volume in over 4 months. Shares broke out of over a one-month range and set a new high for the year.
