Slipknot's DJ Sid Wilson has come out with plans to start a new project under the name SID.

Previously, Wilson has released albums as a solo artist under the name DJ Starscream, but now he will be backed by an entire band.

"I am the frontman and have a band backing me with guitarist 9Ballz, drummer Big Mike, the DJ A-Roc Impossible and hype and back-up vocals by Jamazz," Wilson said in a radio interview.

There is no information on what type of music SID will create, but there is already a show planned for August 26 at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines, Iowa.

Since the death of bassist Paul Gray in May, most of the members of Slipknot have begun work on side projects. Guitarist Jim Root and vocalist Corey Taylor, have been working on their side project, Stone Sour. Their new album, Audio Secrecy, hits stores on September 7.

Drummer Joey Jordinson is also a part of the Murderdolls, who have also recently released a new album.
