Private education provider Apollo Group Inc. (APOL) Friday said it appointed Sean Martin as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, replacing Robert Moya, who announced his retirement earlier this year. The company noted that Martin will report to the Office of the Chief Executive Officer.
The company said Moya will serve as Executive Vice President, Special Projects, until October 31, 2010; he will then serve the company as a Senior Advisor until August 31, 2011.
Martin most recently served as Vice President of Corporate Law and Assistant Secretary for Amgen, a Fortune 500 biotechnology company. Prior to joining Amgen, Martin served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Fresenius Medical Care North America.
APOL closed Thursday's regular trading at $50.79 on the Nasdaq.
