Taylor Lautner is set to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Catherine Fisher's novel "Incarceron." Lautner will star as the protagonist, Finn, in the futuristic sci-fi tale.
The 18-year-old actor is also rumored to have joined the project as a producer.
"Incarceron" is the story of Finn, a young prisoner inside the futuristic prison Incarceron. Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, who are responsible for 2006's "Accepted" and the upcoming Brett Ratner project "Tower Heist," are set to write the screenplay.
The book's sequel, "Sapphique," is set to be released December 28.
Lautner fans don't have to wait for the film's release to see him on the big screen, however. The teen star will appear in the final two chapters of the "Twilight" series - "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part I" and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part II" - which have been shot back-to-back. He will also star in "Abduction" and "Stretch Armstrong."
