U.S. Wholesale Inventories Rose 0.8% In July, Matching Expectations

Wholesale inventories in the U.S. increased in line with economist estimates, according to figures released Friday by the Commerce Department, although the report also showed that wholesale sales came in unchanged.

The report showed that wholesale inventories increased by 0.8 percent in July following a 0.6 percent increase in June. The increase in inventories matched the expectations of economists.

At the same time, the Commerce Department said that wholesale sales came in unchanged in July after rising by 0.6 percent in June.
