The total number of building permits issued in New Zealand fell a seasonally adjusted 6.9 percent on month in March, Statistics New Zealand said on Thursday - standing at 3,180.
That follows the downwardly revised 1.7 percent increase in February (originally 1.9 percent).
In the year ended March 2019, the actual number of new dwellings consented was 34,516, up 10 percent on year.
The annual value of non-residential building work consented was NZ$7.1 billion, up an annual 7.6 percent.
