South Korea Industrial Output Tumbles 1.7% In May

Industrial production in South Korea was down a seasonally adjusted 1.7 percent on month in May, Statistics Korea said on Friday - following the 1.9 percent jump in April.

On a yearly basis, industrial output eased 0.2 percent after gaining 0.2 percent in the previous month.

The index of all industry production sank 0.5 percent on month but climbed 1.0 percent on year.

The Manufacturing Production Index in May fell 1.5 percent on month and 0.1 percent on year. The Manufacturing Shipment Index fell 1.4 percent on month and 2.1 percent on year. The Manufacturing Inventory Index added 0.9 percent on month and 8.3 percent on year.
