Inflation figures from France and Italy are the only main news due on Friday while several other major markets remain closed for a public holiday.
At 3.45 am ET, France's statistical office INSEE publishes flash inflation, producer prices and household spending figures. Consumer price inflation is forecast to ease to 2.6 percent in March from 3.0 percent in February. Economists expect household spending to grow 0.3 percent in February, offsetting a 0.3 percent fall a month ago.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
