Following the sell-off seen during last Friday's session, stocks are likely to move back to the upside in early trading on Monday. The major index futures are currently pointing to a sharply higher open for the markets, with the S&P 500 futures surging by 1.2 percent.

Traders may look to pick up stocks at somewhat reduced levels following the steep drop seen over the course of the previous session.
