Stocks have moved mostly higher during trading on Friday, extending the strong upward move seen over the course of the previous session. With the continued advance, the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 have reached new record intraday highs.
Currently, the major averages are well off their highs of the session but still in positive territory. The Nasdaq is up 206.96 points or 0.8 percent at 25,099.27, the S&P 500 is up 37.32 points or 0.5 percent at 7,246.33 and the Dow is up 85.54 points or 0.2 percent at 49,737.68.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
