China Shares May Stop The Bleeding On Friday

The China stock market has finished lower in back-to-back sessions, tumbling more than 90 points or 2.2 percent in that span. The Shanghai Composite Index now sits just above the 4,075-point plateau although it may halt its slide on Friday.

The global forecast for the Asian markets is cautiously optimistic on easing crude oil prices. The European markets were mixed and the U.S. bourses were up and the Asian markets figure to split the difference.

Apart from the confirmation of Kevin Warsh as the next Fed chair, the main news on the economics front this week included key price data from the U.S. and the first quarter economic growth figures from major economies. Both consumer prices and producer costs have started to reflect the effect of supply shocks due to the Middle East conflict. In Europe, GDP data was in focus, while inflation data from China dominated the news flow in Asia.
