Eurostat is slated to publish trade figures for January at 6:00 am ET. The Eurozone trade balance is forecast to show a shortfall of EUR 3.5 billion compared to a surplus of EUR 11.7 billion in December.
The euro moderately filled early Asian session's gapped down trading and held steady against its major rivals ahead of the report. As of 5:55 am ET, the European shared currency was trading at 1.2220 against the Swiss franc, 0.8568 against the pound, 1.2960 against the US dollar and 123.10 against the yen.
