SCOR SE (SCR.PA) released earnings for its first quarter that Increased, from the same period last year

The company's bottom line came in at EUR225 million, or EUR1.26 per share. This compares with EUR200 million, or EUR1.12 per share, last year.

The company's revenue for the period fell 6.1% to EUR3.815 billion from EUR4.063 billion last year.

The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
