Beatles IPhone App Released

A fully licensed Beatles iPhone app has been released onto the iPhone App Store.

The program includes lyrics and chords to more than 160 Beatles songs. It constitutes the first official Beatles content to be featured on iTunes.

The Little Black Songbook also features 30 recorded backing tracks and a variety of instructional videos.

There is significant history between the computing giant Apple, which owns iTunes, and the record label Apple that the Beatles founded in 1968. A settlement that prevented Apple Inc. from dabbling in the music business was reached, but this had to be amended in 2007 to deal with Apple's iTunes business.

Since then, the Beatles have failed to provide their music online, though there have been rumors in the past year that now that the remastered Beatles albums have been released, a digital release will come soon.
