Katy Perry tied the knot with English comic Russell Brand in Rajasthan, India on October 23, 2010. The location, near a tiger sanctuary in Rajasthan, held a special meaning for the pair, as that is where Brand proposed. The pair first met at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2009, when Brand made various comments about his attraction to Perry. They became engaged the following December while vacationing together. A rep for the couple confirmed the wedding had take place while speaking with People magazine, saying:“The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples' closest family and friends was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India."
