Playing their first overseas concert since reuniting, No Doubt appeared at a festival in Singapore over the weekend.

Speaking to the media before the event, frontwoman Gwen Stefani explained that family matters contributed to the 5-year hiatus.

"Well, I had two babies, there's nothing I can do to rush that," she said. "I mean that just takes as long as it's going to take."

She admitted that her solo career also contributed to the extended break for the band.

"I did my records which took a little time and toured a little bit. We did it as fast as we could," she said.

The festival, called F1 Rocks, was a lead-in to Formula 1's Singapore Grand Prix race, which was run on Sunday.

Some of the other acts at the festival were ZZ Top, Beyoncé and the Black Eyed Peas.
