LG Electronics Inc. (LGERF.PK) filed lawsuit against Whirlpool Corp., (WHR) saying the U.S. electronics maker has infringed on one of its refrigerator patents, the Wall Street Journal reported. The report said that LG filed a patent infringement lawsuit October 7 in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey against Whirlpool, demanding compensation.
LG also said the International Trade Commission has ruled in favor of the Korean company in another patent dispute with Whirlpool, the report specified.
LG said the decision reportedly will be finalized in about four months unless modified by the ITC on an appeal.
