Triumph Group, Inc. (TGI) announced that Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. has awarded its Seattle-based engineering group a series of contracts to develop systems and critical components for the CH-53K helicopter that Sikorsky is developing for the U.S. Marine Corps.
The company said that the CH-53K is being designed to provide the U.S. Marines with enhanced heavy-lift capability and the scope of the agreements includes the development of the Blade Fold System, the Blade Damper and the Rotor Brake Module. The development contract is expected to be completed in 2012 and will initially involve several Triumph Group companies, the company stated.
