Regal Entertainment Slips To Loss In Q3 - Quick Facts

Regal Entertainment Group (RGC) reported a third-quarter net loss of $1.9 million compared to profit of $31.0 million last year.

Net loss attributable to controlling interest was $1.8 million compared to profit of $31.0 million a year ago. Loss per share was $0.01 compared to income of $0.20 per share a year ago. Adjusted earnings per share decreased to $0.05 from $0.25 last year.

On average, 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.07 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues were $673.5 million compared to $757.6 million last year. Analysts expected revenue of $701.79 million for the quarter.

Regal's Board of Directors declared a cash dividend of $0.18 per Class A and Class B common share, payable on December 17, 2009, to stockholders of record on December 9, 2009.
