AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc. (AAI), reported that its traffic in October increased 5.2% from October 2008, on a capacity increase of 7.0%.
The airline said its October traffic rose 5.2% to 1.51 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 1.43 billion RPMs in the same period last year.
The airline's October capacity was 1.90 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 7.0% from 1.78 billion ASMs in the prior year period.
Load factor for October 2009 was 79.2%, down 1.3 points from 80.5% in October 2008.
