SABMiller plc (SAB.L) and Molson Coors Brewing Co. (TAP, TAP.TO) announced third-quarter results for their joint venture, MillerCoors, reporting net income attributable to MillerCoors of US$229.7 million, compared to US$168.2 million in the year ago quarter.
Underlying net income attributable to MillerCoors, excluding special items, increased 28.1% to US$244.4 million, versus the prior-year comparable quarter.
During the third quarter of 2009, MillerCoors reported special charges totaling US$14.7 million, which include pension curtailment and integration expenses.
Net sales for the quarter were US$2.01 billion, up from US$1.95 billion in the year ago quarter.
