Cobham Plc (COB.L) said its unit, Cobham Aviation Services Australia, entered into agreement with Chevron Australia to provide fixed wing aviation services to support Chevron's operations in the north-west. The initial contract is valued about A$170 million, extending until 2016.
Cobham Aviation Services would provide flights to and from Perth and Karratha to Barrow Island to support Chevron's operations and projects, including the Gorgon Project.
As per the contract, Cobham Aviation Services will introduce two new 100-seat Avro RJ100 aircraft into Australia. The first of the RJ100 aircraft will be in service during the first half of 2010, followed closely by a second aircraft in 2011.
