Stanley Furniture Slips To Loss In Q4

Stanley Furniture Co. Inc. (STLY) reported net loss of $1.28 million or $0.12 per share for the fourth quarter, compared to a profit of $6.25 million or $0.60 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Net sales for the quarter declined to $39.91 million from $50.36 million in the prior year quarter.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report loss of $0.37 per share on revenue of $38.79 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

For full year, net loss was $11.75 million or $1.14 per share, compared to an income of $3.74 million or $0.36 per share in the previous year.

Net sales for the year was $160.45 million, down from $226.52 million a year earlier.

Analysts expected the company to report loss of $1.31 per share on revenues of $159.34 million for full year.
