Australia House Prices Jump 20% In Q1

House prices in Australia surged 20% year-on-year in the March quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.

This follows a 13.5% increase in the December quarter.

Home prices recorded double-digit annual growth in all eight capital cities, with Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra leading the way.

On a quarterly basis, house prices increased 4.8% between January and March, slower than the 5.1% increase in the December quarter.
