CIT Group Inc. (CIT) announced the appointment of Nelson Chai as executive vice president, chief administrative officer and head of strategy, effective June 1, 2010 and he would report directly to chairman and chief executive John Thain.
Chai would have responsibility for CIT's global infrastructure and operating architecture including its technology platforms and would also lead the company's strategic planning, business development and sales activities, as well as the insurance and consumer finance divisions.
Prior to CIT, Chai served as Executive Vice President and finnace chief of Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.
In a seperate press release, the company announced the appointment of Robert Rowe as Executive Vice President, Chief Credit Officer effective June 2, 2010.
