Southern Co. (SO) gapped up slightly Friday and climbed for the majority of the morning. The stock took out the highs of the session going into the close and finished up by 0.83 at $36.97.
Southern Co. rose past the upper end of a 5-week trading range Friday and closed at a new high for the year.
