The CIPS/Markit construction PMI for the U.K. is due at 5.30 am ET Friday. The index is seen falling to 49 in October from 49.5 in the previous month.
Ahead of the data, the pound showed mixed trading against other major currencies. While the pound fell against the yen and the greenback, it was up against the franc and the euro.
At 5:25 am ET, the pound was quoted at 1.6095 against the greenback, 129.17 against the yen, 1.5086 against the franc and 0.8002 against the euro.
