Malibu Country, Reba McEntire's return to the world of sitcom TV, has been canceled after just one season. The ABC network program had some early success with viewers but decided in the end to axe the program.

The program featured McEntire as a transplant to Southern California from the South. Prompted to start her life anew by her no good husband, Reba, her kids and mother (Lily Tomlin) dealt with the culture shift.

The show took in 9.13 million early in the season but tailed off by the end, with its season finale garnering only 7.04 million viewers.

ABC looks to be revamping its lineup for the upcoming fall season, cancelling four more series: Body of Proof, Happy Endings, How to Live with Your Parents and Red Widow.
