The U.S. Labor Department will release its weekly jobless claims data at 8.30 a.m. ET. Economists expect the claims to ease to 354,000 in the weekended June 01 from 354,000 reported last week.
The US dollar held steady against its major counterparts ahead of the report. As of 8:24 am ET, the greenback was trading at 1.3112 against the euro, 99.06 against the yen, 0.9421 against the Swiss franc and 1.5449 against the pound.
