Carlos Santana and Billy Joel were both honored at the Kennedy Center Honors over the weekend. Santana was feted at the event with a performance of his hit "Oye Como Va," performed by Juanes and Tom Morello.

Other honored at the event were Shirley MacLaine, Herbie Hancock and Martina Arroyo. Santana and Arroyo were just the third and fourth Latinos to receive the award.

"Well, I'll tell you folks, there's no two ways about it. We've got to do something about Mexican immigration," said Harry Belefonte during his announcement of Santana's honor.

"Every day you have people like Carlos Santana coming into this country and taking jobs that should be going to Americans."

Buddy Guy, a personal idol of Santana's, played "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man," which the audience, including Santana, rewarded with a standing ovation.
