Informatica Corp. (INFA) Climbed To A New High After Merger Agreement

Informatica Corp. (INFA) announced Tuesday morning that it has agreed to be acquired by a company controlled by the Permira funds and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board for approximately $5.3 billion.

Informatica gapped open sharply higher Tuesday, but moved in a narrow range throughout the session. The stock closed up by 1.96 at $47.79 on the highest volume of the year. Informatica rose to its second consecutive new high for the year.

Major central banks continued to dominate the economic news flow this week too, led by the Federal Reserve, as they announced their latest policy decisions. The Federal Reserve policy session was in focus as it was the first to be led by the new chief Kevin Warsh. In Europe, central banks of the U.K. and Switzerland announced their rate decisions. In Asia, the Bank of Japan drew attention for its policy moves, while data out of China threw some light on the state of the economy.
