Common has been cast as the main villain opposite Keanu Reeves in John Wick 2.
The rapper is said to be playing the head of security for a female crime lord who presumably comes into conflict with Reeves' character.
John Wick starred Reeves as a former hitman who comes out of retirement after an obnoxious rich kid (Alfie Allen) kills the beagle puppy left to him by his late wife. Ian McShane is also set to reprise his role. Specific plot details for the upcoming sequel are unknown.
The original film was co-directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, but Stahelski will direct the sequel by himself, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Derek Kolstad, who wrote the original's screenplay, has also written the follow-up and shooting is due to start this week.
