According to a search warrant, Prince saw Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg, who prescribed him with unknown medications twice before his death in April, including on the day before his death, April 20.

The initial autopsy to determine the cause of Prince's death was inconclusive, while officials await the return of toxicology tests. Prince was in possession of painkillers at the time of his death.

The LA Times attempted to reach Schulenberg for comment but couldn't get one.

Since Prince's death, reports have surfaced that the singer had an addiction to Percocet, dating back to a hip surgery he underwent in 2009. Six days before his death, he fell unconscious in a private plane, forcing it to make an emergency landing. According to reports he was subsequently treated with an opioid overdose antidote.
