Contrary to many reports, Beyoncé's song "Love Drought," which appears on her latest album Lemonade, is not about her husband Jay Z, according to the song's co-writer.

Songwriter Ingrid Burley made the admission to lyric website Genius, saying that "Love Drought" is actually about her own frustrations with Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment record label.

"In all seriousness, I was very frustrated with the label," Burley said, recalling a moment from two years ago. Apparently, two people from the label lied to her and told her Beyoncé wasn't looking for any new music at the time, when in fact she was. "I was so pissed," she said, adding that she used the experience as an inspiration for "Love Drought," which she wrote in 30 minutes.

"Love Drought" was assumed to be about Beyoncé's marriage due to its lyrical content referencing struggles and infidelity.
