Drake has topped the Billboard 200 chart for the ninth straight week with his latest album, Views, according to Rap-Up.com.
This milestone gives Views the third-most weeks at number one by a hip-hop album, beating out Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP, which was released in 2000. However, the album still needs to push past Vanilla Ice's To the Extreme, which reached 16 weeks on top in 1990-1991 and MC Hammer's Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em, which dominated for a whole 21 weeks in 1990.
In order to land his ninth straight week in a row on the Billboard 200, he sold 111,000 equivalent album units (25,000 in traditional album sales) for the week ending June 30, many of this due to streaming equivalent album units.
Views was released on April 29 and has produced the singles "Hotline Bling," "One Dance," "Pop Style," "Too Good" and "Controlla."
