The manufacturing sector in Australia turned to expansion in October, the latest survey from the Australian Industry Group showed on Tuesday with a Performance of Manufacturing Index score of 50.9.
That's up from 49.8 in September, and it moves above the boom-or-bust line of 50 that separates expansion from contraction.
Among the individual components, sales, new orders and exports expanded, while production and employment contracted.
