CVS Pharmacy will be launching health and wellness vending machines across the country to offer healthy snacks, personal care items as well as over-the-counter products to the customers on the go. The automated machines will be placed in airports, hotels, transportation hubs etc. and can be accessed using credit and debit cards.
The company has finalized the list of places to install vending machines such as LaGuardia public transit stations in New York, South Station Bus Terminal in Boston and New England. The vending machines with 22-inch smart screens will be placed in more than 50 centers, including college campuses, corporate offices. Installation of 25 machines will be finished by October end. Each machine will offer around 70 items that can be conveniently accessed.
One can scan the QR code on the screen to know more about the product. There will be high-resolution images of each product.
The vending machines will comply with the American Disabilities Act so that customers on wheelchair also can access the machines.
