Country duo Dan + Shay are set to headline a benefit concert for the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, an effort that will help rebuild the community that was hit by the devastating shooting that killed 11 people.
The December 2 event, titled a "Concert for Unity," will raise funds to help the synagogue rebuild and reopen following the October mass shooting at the place of worship.
The Concert for Unity will be held in downtown Pittsburgh at the Byham Theater on the Allegheny River. Local artists FRZY and the Andy Davis Band are also set to perform.
"Pittsburgh suffered an unfathomable tragedy on October 27," said Michael Spacciapolli, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Pittsburgh, in a statement. "Our community has come together to support our neighbors in their time of need. Through the generosity of local Pittsburgh artists and partners like the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and the Byham Theater, A Concert for Unity will directly support rebuilding Tree of Life."
Dan Smyers, of the Dan + Shay, is a Pittsburgh area native, raised in nearby Wexford.
