Metallica have earned their third No. 1 on Billboard's Top Rock Albums chart, as S&M2 debuted atop the chart dated September 12.
S&M2, which dropped on Friday, August 28, features performances from Metallica's concerts with the San Francisco Symphony at the Chase Center in San Francisco on September 6 and 8, 2019.
S&M2 earned 56,000 equivalent album units in the week ending September 3, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Of that sum, 53,000 units were via album sales.
S&M2 is the band's third No. 1 after Death Magnetic and Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. On the all-genre Billboard 200, S&M2 debuted at No. 4, marking Metallica's 11th top 10.
S&M2 is available in a variety of formats, including a digital album and four-LP-vinyl, two-CD, DVD, and Blu-ray versions, and a limited-edition Deluxe Box will contain four color-vinyl LPs, two CDs and Blu-ray, as well as sheet music, guitar picks, a poster and more.
