Justin Bieber shared a new single, "Hold On," and an accompanying video, directed by Colin Tilley, on Friday (March 5).

"Hold On" will be featured on Bieber's upcoming sixth album, Justice, due out on March 19.

The song conveys an emotional message of hope. It narrates about Bieber trying to raise money to pay the medical bills of his terminally ill wife.

"I need you to hold on / Heaven is a place not too far away / We all know I should be the one to say we all make mistakes," he sings on the track.

The visual shows Bieber robbing a bank with a toy gun and then speeding away on a motorcycle as the police chase him.

"I think this song is basically a hopeful record of holding on 'cause a lot of us wanna give up at times, we wanna let go and just give up," explained Bieber. "The message is basically hold on, there's a lot to look forward to. There's a lot we can't control but there's hope."
