Shares of Moderna, Inc. (MRNA) are up more than 7% in the morning trade on Tuesday.
The company today said the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan (MHLW) and Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. (TAK) have agreed to purchase an additional 50 million doses of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine and its updated variant booster vaccine candidate, if authorized, to begin delivery in 2022.
This new supply agreement adds to the prior agreement for 50 million doses.
MRNA touched a new high of $338.65 this morning.
