Country star Jake Owen dropped a new single, "Drunk on a Boat," on Friday, October 8.
"Drunk on a boat / Forget about the rest / All we gotta worry 'bout's an empty ice chest," Owen sings in the chorus. "You grab a life jacket, jump in and float / Or sit right there and get drunk on a boat."
"Drunk on a Boat" was written by Rodney Clawson, Jake Mitchell and David Lee Murphy and produced by Joey Moi. Owen had previously performed the song at few of his concerts throughout the spring and summer of 2021.
The country singer had teased the new song last week on social media, sharing an image of a wild pig standing on a sandy beach along with a one-word caption, "Soon," as well as a link to pre-save the song.
"When I heard this song for the first time, I knew it was right on-brand for me," Owen says about the new single. "I wanted to release 'Drunk On A Boat' as the sun sets on the season and give everyone a feel-good summer memory as we head into fall."
