HBO has shared the first trailer for the forthcoming Alanis Morissette documentary Jagged, due out on the HBO Max streaming service on November 18.

Jagged is the second entry in Bill Simmons' Music Box documentary series, which has included Woodstock '99: Peace, Love And Rage, and forthcoming films about Kenny G, DMX, and more.

The documentary, directed by Alison Klayman and executive produced by Bill Simmons, focuses on the creation of Morissette's breakthrough album Jagged Little Pill and also delves into the sexual abuse the singer experienced as a young woman in the music industry.

The film has attracted a certain amount of controversy since its announcement, with Morissette remarking that the film contains "implications and facts that are simply not true" after the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Morissette accused the team behind the documentary of having a "salacious agenda," saying she "was lulled into a false sense of security."

"This was not the story I agreed to tell. I sit here now experiencing the full impact of having trusted someone who did not warrant being trusted," she said.
