Country superstar Carrie Underwood recently dropped her first single of 2022 - "Ghost Story."
A character-driven ballad, the song was co-written by David Garcia, Hillary Lindsey and Josh Kear, while Underwood co-produced the track with David Garcia.
"Ghost Story" comes a week after the country superstar posted a photo on Instagram of herself recording music in a studio, captioned, "So, I did a thing…"
"['Ghost Story' doesn't] sound like anything else that's on the radio right now. And I feel like it was a great first choice first single because I feel like it's enough of hopefully what people like about me," Underwood told Apple Music about the song.
She added, "There's some drama. It's a cinematic song. It's a great story song. It's kind of this little revenge kind of song and there's just something kind of epic about it."
