Rihanna's music video for her 2012 single "Diamonds" has officially surpassed 2 billion views on the YouTube.
"Diamonds" is Rihanna's third song to reach the 2-billion views after Calvin Harris' "This Is What You Came For," in which she featured, and her feature on Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie."
"Diamonds" officially becomes Rihanna's first video as a solo performer to reach this benchmark.
The song's music video was shot by director Anthony Mandler, a frequent collaborator of Rihanna's, and depicts her in four environments that represent the elements of earth, air, water, and fire.
"Diamonds" was a song from Rihanna's seventh studio album, Unapologetic (2012). The single was written by Sia together with its producers, Benny Blanco and Stargate.
"Diamonds" topped music charts in over twenty countries, including the United States, where it became Rihanna's 12th No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Diamonds" was certified seven-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America and sold over 3.5 million digital copies in the U.S.
