Rising country star Megan Moroney recently dropped a new single, "Girl In The Mirror," the third from her forthcoming debut album, Lucky.
Lucky is set to drop on May 5th via Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records. The song, which Moroney describes as "the most vulnerable song I've ever written," was co-written by Moroney, Jessie Jo Dillon, and Matt Jenkins.
"It's just pure honesty," she explained. "I wrote it about being in a relationship with someone that I knew wasn't valuing me. But I wanted it to work so bad that I was sacrificing my own happiness. It's a reminder that I think a lot of us need to hear, to choose yourself and love yourself more."
"She looks just like me but I don't recognize her / She's got the same eyes but they're heavy and tired / He just walked out and she's standing right there / She loves the boy more than she loves the girl in the mirror," Moroney sings during the chorus.
Along with the release of the song, Moroney shared a "Girl In The Mirror" music video that was directed by Acacia Evans.
