Drake recently slammed Childish Gambino's 2018 hit song "This Is America," calling it "overrated and over-awarded".
Drake performed the first show on his nationwide It's All a Blur Tour with 21 Savage in Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday, June 5.
During the show, Drake performed "Headlines" in which news headlines flashed across the LED screen behind him, showing some of the biggest headlines about the rapper.
One of the news lines captured by a fan on TikTok read, "The overrated and over awarded hit song 'This Is America' was originally a Drake diss record."
Although "This Is Ameica" comments about the race relations in the U.S.A., the track was initially planned as a diss track about Drake.
"Time is the oven that makes something special," Gambino said. "I had that idea like three years before. The idea for the song started as a joke. To be completely honest, 'This Is America' - that was all we had. It started as a Drake diss, but then I was like, 'This sh-t sounds kind of hard.'"
