Jason Aldean's "Try That In A Small Town" has made its debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 amid controversy over the song and its video.
"Try That In A Small Town" earned the second spot on the chart dated July 29 with the biggest sales week for a country song in more than a decade.
"Try That in a Small Town" drew 11.6 million streams (up 547%), 7.3 million in radio airplay audience (up 17%) and sold 228,000 (up 27,625%) in the July 14-20 charting week, according to Luminate.
The video for the song, released on July 14, led to controversy, as it featured footage of Black Lives Matter police protests and an American flag burning. The video was recorded at the site of two 20th century incidents - a mob lynching of a black teenager and a race riot.
Aldean achieves his second Hot 100 top 10 on the chart dated July 29, topped by BTS' Jungkook.
"Try That in a Small Town" also made a return to the top of Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
