After ending the previous session little changed, stocks are turning in another lackluster performance during trading on Thursday. The major averages are once again bouncing back and forth across the unchanged line.
Currently, the major averages are posting modest losses. The Dow is down 96.54 points or 0.3 percent at 34,015.73, the S&P 500 is down 7.63 points or 0.2 percent at 4,375.15 and the Nasdaq is down 13.03 points or 0.1 percent at 13,637.38.

Both consumer prices and producer costs have started to reflect the effect of supply shocks due to the Middle East conflict. In Europe, GDP data was in focus, while inflation data from China dominated the news flow in Asia.
